sahzene nilhan durmusoglu johansen was born in istanbul. she studied menswear at oslo national academy of the arts and central saint martins. as a former music magazine editor, sn. dj always takes her starting point in music and blends it with other sources of inspiration such as streetwear, gangs, found objects, experiments with fabric textures or simply her childhood in istanbul. for every project, her design process starts with creating a soundtrack that refers to her inspirations. upon graduating in oslo, she was favoured in vogue italy with the collection ‘More Weird Hits, More Weird Fits!’ from her label sn. dj. in august 2011 the collection was awarded its own show in oslo fashion week as part of the cocoon new talents project.
