charlie may; a young british womenswear designer, raised on a farm and spent her childhood in the same family home. this has inspired her to draw inspiration from her surroundings and background, which leads her to the signature minimalist, androgynous style she has become known for.

she graduated from the university of the west of england in 2010 with a BA(hons) in fashion design, where she achieved the privilege of being selected for a place at graduate fashion week. in her final year of university charlie worked on louise goldin's SS/10 collection. after moving to london, she started working for thomas tait, assisting him for two seasons until pursuing her own label.

'TO BE HEARD' expresses the inspiration and feeling for ToBeFrank's SS13 collection. It was the music she listened too whilst designing, The city shanty band were actually a direct inspiration for ‘the flood’ jacket with their amazing fisherman vocals. Every song has a part of the collection, Manly, English (expect for fun but that song is a cheery one).

london born designer oscar quiroz, launched his debut capsule collection during london menswear for spring/summer 2012. graduating from central saint martins, quiroz originally planned a career as a financial forecaster and economist, before moving into the world of men’s fashion. with a cv including work with ann-sofie back, a capsule collection with japanese concept store side by side, stints with fashion/interior designer russell sage and bless in Paris, it was after a season collaborating with dansk magazine’s fashion director toby grimditch that led to the creation of his debut collection.

'D' is for dancing was inspired by the legendary dance move 'the disco shuffle' Oscars mix takes the listener on a hip jerking journey back and forth through finger wagging and foot tapping beats offering an eclectic and feel good mix.

theunconventional mix series launches with a relaxed vibe from resident political and current affairs artist Adam Batchelor.

Adam takes influences from social injustices and issues throughout the world, exploring the breakdown and conflict between humanity, the man-made and the natural world, and looks into the ever rapid transition of developing cultures. He introduces themes of capitalism and consumerism and highlights the threats these have on global issues such as the rights for Indigenous people, the agricultural industry, corruption, health, war and conflict.
